Case in one line: A 336D kept throwing hydraulic pressure alarms; two sensors had already been replaced locally. This time the customer inquired about the same sensor again. We asked one question: "How long did the last one last?" — "About a week." The real culprit: a chafed harness by the guard panel shorting intermittently. No new sensor shipped; we sent a harness-repair procedure instead.

How it went

DayWhat happened
Day 1Customer asked to quote a pressure sensor by number. Stock confirmed — then we asked: which time is this, and how long did the last one last?
Day 1Answer: third time, each lasting about a week. We told him: three identical sensor failures is statistically near-impossible — check the harness for chafing near guard panels first
Day 2He found the worn spot, taped and secured it — alarm gone. The original sensor stayed in the machine
Two weeks laterCustomer messaged: no recurrence. Ordered a spare sensor and a harness sleeve anyway

Why "replacement history" is gold

Quick tips for quoting sensors & electrical parts

Appendix: 4 ways to get the exact part right the first time

MethodWhat you provideResult
1. Part number (fastest)The part number / VOE number / CAT number — nothing else neededStock and price confirmed within minutes; 100% precise
2. Model + serial number + yeare.g. EC210B + machine serial + year 2015The same model can have several versions — the serial number pins it down
3. Photo of nameplate / old partA clear photo of the machine nameplate, or the printed/stamped number on the old partWe verify fitment from the photo — our responsibility, not yours
4. Fault description + replacement historyBriefly describe the symptom and whether/when this part was replaced beforeWe help judge what to replace — and whether a root cause is still hiding

Send any one of the four to our online chat to lock in the right part. The more you share, the faster and more accurate the quote.

Frequently asked questions

Three sensors failing — coincidence?

Statistically no. Same part, same spot, repeated failures: check power, ground, harness and connectors before blaming the parts themselves.

Do you also sell harnesses and connectors?

Yes. Common CAT/Volvo harness sections, connectors and sleeves are stocked — quote by number or photo.

What if we can't diagnose it ourselves?

Send the symptom and history to our online chat — we give a simple-to-complex check sequence you can follow step by step.

Got a part number or a photo?
